The WWHSHL’s Elite Team saw its first game of action this season hosting the NW Ontario Elite today. The Broncos travelled toWinnipegto participate in All Star Day but unfortunately only half their team arrived as the other half was caught on a closed highway due to an accident. Six showcase players suited up for the Broncos to start the game until the rest of their players arrived mid way through the first period.
Dakota Lancers goaltender Taylor Morriseau got to start in net for the WWHSHL Elite Team and faced 16 shots throughout the first half of the game allowing 3 goals. The Broncos had leads of 1-0 and 3-2 after the first two periods. Tiana Charban, FRC took the net mid-way through the second period, where she faced 13 shots, surrendering 3 goals as well.
The Elite Team managed a total of 13 shots on the Broncos net and got goals from Jessica Bousquet, John Taylor Pipers, and Samantha Victor, Lorette Scorpions. Picking up assists were Karina Durupt, Louis Riel Voyageurs and Justine Fredette, Vincent Massey Trojans.
