Week ending February 15, 2013

  • CTV Division A: Congratulations to SJR Eagles’ Sarah Hnytkawho epitomized ‘fire on ice’ this week, scoring 2 goals and 2 assists to help her team beat the Sanford Sabres 6-1, and scoring a hat-trick the next day to claim the Eagles’ hard fought 3-2 victory over the West Kildonan Wolverines.
  • Winnipeg Free Press Division B: Congratulations to CJS Olympiens’ Genevieve Maywhose hot hands helped her lead her team to back-to-back victories over the CLC Scorpions this week, scoring 4 goals in a 8-2 win on Tuesday, and then adding 1 goal and an assist in a 4-2 game on Wednesday.

Week ending February 8, 2013

  • CTV Division A: Congratulations to FRC Centurions’ Alyssa Cochranewhose outstanding play helped her team rally to a tie and a victory this week. Alyssa scored a goal and set up 2 more in the 4-4 tie against the VMC Trojans, and then helped her team achieve an upset 4-3 win over the Kelvin Clippers with a goal and an assist.
  • Winnipeg Free Press Division B: Congratulations to  Norbert Celtics’ Sydney Parkerwho had a phenomenal week. Sydney scored 3 goals and 2 assists in her team’s 7-0 victory over the CLC Scorpions, and her stellar play continued the following day with another goal and 2 more assists to help team defeat the Westwood Warriors 3-1.

Week ending February 1, 2013

  • CTV Division A: Congratulations to Dakota Lancers’ Mackenzie Kowalczukwho scored 2 goals in helping her team beat the Sanford Sabres 8-0 on Thursday and adding an assist and some sparkling defense in a 4-1 victory over the West Kildonan Wolverines the next day.
  • Winnipeg Free Press Division B: Congratulations to the Beliveau Barracudas’ goalie Kailey Pennerwho lead her team to a thrilling 2-1 victory over the Westwood Warriors as she stopped 23 shots with 3 outstanding saves in the last 30 seconds of the game.

Week ending January 25, 2013

  • CTV Division A: Congratulations to SMA Flames #16 Olivia Hewettwho played a solid game scoring a goal and assisting one more in a very tight game against the VMC Trojans this week.
  • Winnipeg Free Press Division B: Congratulations to the CLC Scorpions’ rookie goaltender Hannah Dornianwho stopped several quality shots on net to help her team maintain a 0-0 tie against the Miles Mac Buckeyes.

Week ending January 18, 2013

  • CTV Division A: Congratulations to the Kelvin Clippers’ # 11 Michelle Perron, who made some solid defensive plays, scored an assist and notched the game winning goal her team’s solid 3-0 win over the PCI Saints.
  • Winnipeg Free Press Division B: Congratulations to the Miles Mac Buckeyes’ # 35 Robin Thiessen, who made several difficult stops and worked hard to earn a much deserved shut out this week in her teams’ 6-0 win over the St. Norbert Celtics.

Week ending January 7, 2013

  • CTV Division A: Congratulations to Oak Park Raiders’ #9 Sydney DeBrouwere, who was a one-woman defensive wall in her team’s game against the Sanford Sabres this week. Sydney prevented the Sabres from entering her defensive zone while on shift and managed an assist as well.
  • Winnipeg Free Press Division B: Congratulations to CJS Olympiens’ #5 Emma Onchulenko, a dominant force in her team’s game against the St. Norbert Celtics. In what turned out to be the crucial play of the game, Emma threaded a pass through the neutral zone which secured a 2:2 tie!

Week ending December 21, 2012

  • CTV Division A: Congratulations to Dakota Lancers’ Kayla Friesen (#77)who showed extraordinary skill in her team’s hard fought 4-1 victory over the PCI Saints, scoring 2 goals and bringing her point total for the first half of the season to 33 points (22G,11A).
  • Winnipeg Free Press Division B: Congratulations toWestwood Warriors’ Emily Hollins (#19) who dominated play this week, controlling and directing a hard fought 3-3 tie against the Miles Mac Buckeyes, followed by a trilling 4-3 win over the Selkirk Royals.

Week ending December 13, 2012

  • CTV Division A: Congratulations to Sanford Sabres’ Lauren Legault (#8)who played with heart and soul in this thrilling 3-2 win over the St. Mary’s Flames. Lauren scored two goals, fore-checked, back-checked and never gave up.
  • Winnipeg Free Press Division B: Congratulations to CJS Olympiens’ Julia Ortiz (#44)who was a tenacious checker and great play maker, scoring 2 goals in the last 4 minutes of the game to eke out a 3-2 win over the Beliveau Barracudas.

Week ending December 6, 2012

  • CTV Division A: Congratulations to Louis Riel Voyageur’s goalie Lauren LaFlechewho backboned her team to a thrilling victory over the previously unbeaten Dakota Lancers stopping all 31 shots in a well earned 4- 0 victory. Lauren has allowed only 11 goals in 8 games so far this season.
  • Winnipeg Free Press Division B: Congratulations to Lord Selkirk Royal’s forward Rochelle Ryderwho had a hot hand in her team’s 7-5 victory over the CLC Scorpions, scoring 4 goals in a relentless assault at the Scorpion’s beleaguered goalie.

Week ending November 30, 2012

  • CTV Division A: Congratulations to the Louis Riel Voyageurs’ Karina Durupt (#11) who was instrumental in her team’s 4- 1 win over the Oak Park Raiders, fighting hard throughout the entire game and scoring 1 goal and an assist.
  • Winnipeg Free Press Division B: Congratulations to River East Kodiak’s Sydney Valiquette (#31) who had a hot hand in both games this week. Sydney backboned her team’s 6-0 victory over the Westwood Warriors stopping all 28 shots and also shut out Miles Mac Buckeyes (1-0) stopping 25 shots.

Week ending November 23, 2012

  • CTV Division A: Congratulations to PCI Saints # 11 Nicole Larameewho scored 2 goals in her teams hard fought 3-2 victory over the VMC Trojans this week. This play-off caliber games saw both teams play with intensity right down to the final horn.
  • Winnipeg Free Press Division B: Congratulations to CLC Scorpions #4 Nicole Levasseurwho played a pivotal role in her team’s 4-2 victory over the CJS Olympiens this week, scoring 2 unassisted back-to-back goals.

Week ending November 16, 2012

  • CTV Division A: Congratulations to VMC Trojan’s Shyan Elias (#10)who played with a lot of heart scoring 1 goal and an assist in her team’s 3-5 loss to the West Kildonan Wolverines. Shyan also scored 2 goals and an assist in her team’s later 6-3 win over the Sanford Sabres for a total of 7 points to date this season.
  • Winnipeg Free Press Division B: Congratulations to  Norbert Celtics’ Sydney Parker (#9)who racked up the goals this week, scoring 2 goals and an assist in her team’s 4-1 win over the Beliveau Barracudas and 2 more goals and an assist in her team’s 5-2 win over the CJS Olympiens, for a total of 13 points to date this season.

  • CTV Division A: Congratulations to West Kildonan Wolverine’s Alexandria Anderson #18who was on fire this week, scoring both goals in her team’s 2-1 victory over the CSHC Huskies, and an assist 2 days later helping her team defeat the FRC Centurions 3-0.
  • Winnipeg Free Press Division B: Congratulations to Miles Mac Buckeyes Jessica Gzebb #4, who scored 1 goal and an assist in her team’s victory over the Selkirk Royals, and 3 days later in a thrilling re-match, scored

Week ending November 2, 2012

  • CTV Division A: Congratulations to the Kelvin Clipper’s #14 Emily Middagh, who in an outstanding performance this week, first helped her team beat the SJR Eagles by scoring 2 goals in a 4-1 victory, and then two days later, scoring another 2 goals to solidify the Clippers 3-2 defeat of the Louis Riel Voyageurs.
  • Winnipeg Free Press Division B: Congratulations to the River East Kodiak’s #4, Elise Edginton, who was nothing short of phenomenal in her teams 7-1 victory over the Westwood Warriors this week, scoring 1 goal in the first period, 1 goal in the 2nd, and erupting to score 4 goals in the 3rd.

Week ending October 26, 2012

  • CTV Division A: Congratulations to the SJR Eagles goalie Danelle Grossmanfor backstopping her team to a thrilling 3-0 win over the Oak Park Raiders. The Raiders had many high quality chances, but Danelle skillfully maneuvered to stop all 32 shots.
  • Winnipeg Free Press Division B: Congratulations to the Selkirk Royals forward Natalie Bennett who skated hard and made excellent plays, rewarding her with 2 assists in her team’s first win of the season, a 4-3 victory

Week ending October 19, 2012

  • CTV Division A: Congratulations to Meagan Sawyer, CSHC Huskies# 35, who’s outstanding goaltending helped her team retain a 1-1 tie against the SJR Eagles by stopping a breakaway goal late in the game. Two days later, Meagan made 20 stops in her team’s 3-1 win over the St. Mary’s Flames.
  • Winnipeg Free Press Division B: Congratulations to Kristen Winter, Westwood Warriors#7 forward, who’s commanding performance, with 3 highlight goals and an assist, secured her team’s 7-2 victory over the CLC Scorpions.

Week ending October 12, 2012

  • CTV Division A: Congratulations to Dakota Lancer’s Olivia Renaud(#18, Forward), who tore up the ice for her team this week. Olivia’s play was outstanding in the Lancer’s victory game against the Oak Park Raiders (3-1), where she scored a highlight reel goal and 2 assists. Later in the week, she was also a powerhouse helping her team defeat the PCI Saints 2-0.
  • Winnipeg Free Press Division B: Congratulations to the  Norbert Celtic’s Kennedy Hutcheson(#5, Forward) who played hard and tough, picking up two assists to help her team beat the CLC Scorpions 4-1. Later in the week, she once again played with grit and determination, and a goal to beat the CJS Olympiens 3-1.
