Week ending February 17, 2012

  • CTV Division A: Congratulations to Balmoral Hall’s # 10 Megan Ross who finished off a very successful year for the Blazers by helping her team beat last year’s champion Oak Park Raiders 3 to 0. Megan played a very strong game, continually fore checking and back checking and assisting on 2 goals.
  • Winnipeg Free Press Division B: Congratulations to John Taylor’s stellar goalie Katelyn Sass who had an outstanding week,stopping 38 shots against the powerful Kelvin Clippers in a 0-0 game; and 2 days later backboning her team to another tie against the College Beliveau,stopping 17 out of 18 shots.

Week ending February 10, 2012

  • CTV Division A: Congratulations to Sanford Sabres power forward Madison Erb who scored 2 goals and assisted another, helping her team beat the Vincent Massey Trojans 6 to 3. Madison played a smart, calculating game, deftly controlling the play during each shift on the ice.
  • Winnipeg Free Press Division B: Congratulations to Garden City Gophers’ Alannah Raposo, who despite her team’s 4-3 loss to the Lorette Scorpions, never gave up. Scoring late in the third period she brought her team within one goal. With a tie in sight, Alannah showed the grit and determination that stars are made of, fighting hard for another right to the final horn.

Week ending February 3, 2012

  • CTV Division A: Congratulations to Fort Richmond Centurions’ Jessica Kaminsky for her outstanding play in their hard fought 5- 2 win over the Dakota Lancers. Jessica showed her skills and determination scoring 2 goals for a tie at the end of the second period, and then dominating the 3rd period with 2 goals and an assist to solidify the win.
  • Winnipeg Free Press Division B: Congratulations to St. Norbert Celtic’s Sydney Parker who through perseverance, deftly moved across the ice, earning a hat trick in their 4-4 tie with the River East Kodiaks. Sydney was brilliant, scoring her first goal in the second period, closely followed by a power play goal, and a short-handed goal in the 3rd period.

Week ending January 27, 2012

  • CTV Division A: Congratulations to Vincent Massey’s # 10 Shyan Elias who was on fire as she battled hard, scoring her team’s lone goal in a thrilling loss to 2:1 loss to CJS. The next day, Shyan was instrumental in her team’s 3 to 3 tie against Oak Park, scoring 1 goal and assisting on 2 others.
  • Winnipeg Free Press Division B: Congratulations to the Lorette Scorpions’ # 8 Kendall Smith, whose contributions both offensively and defensively led to a 1 - 0 victory against the SJR Eagles, despite playing with only 8 skaters.

Week ending January 20, 2012

  • CTV Division A: Congratulations to the Lord Selkirk Royals’ # 6 Rochelle Ryden, who’s work ethic and outstanding performance really stood out even though her team trailed and eventually lost 7-2 to the Fort Richmond Centurions.
  • Winnipeg Free Press Division B: Congratulations to the Beliveau Barracudas’ # 30 Michelle Kerdes, who took twice as many shots on net and stopped them all to secure a 0-0 tie against the SJR Eagles.

Week ending January 13, 2012

  • CTV Division A: Congratulations to Westwood Warriors #7 Haley Kirkbride-Taylor, who led the rush and used superb fore-checking skills to cause turnovers on most attacks, taking her team to a 4-0 victory over the Lord Selkirk Royals.
  • Winnipeg Free Press Division B: Congratulations to West Kildonan Wolverines #18 Alex Anderson, who dominated the ice both offensively and defensively this week, and scoring 3 goals to ensure her team’s 4-1 victory over the Beliveau Barracudas.

Week ending December 23, 2011

  • CTV Division A: Goalie Shay Perry of the PCI Saints was rock solid this week as she stonewalled the St Mary’s Flames 1-0 by stopping all 35 shots including 2 breakaways. Two days later, Shay blanked the Oak Park Raiders in a 0-0 tie despite being outplayed. Congratulations Shay on a truly remarkable performance.
  • Winnipeg Free Press Division B: Once again a goalie takes the spotlight as River East Kodiak’s Sydne Valiquette proved to be the game breaker, stopping 45 shots securing her team’s 4-3 victory over the Sturgeon Heights Huskies. Congratulations Sydne on a stellar performance.

Week ending December 17, 2011

  • CTV Division A: Congratulations to Randi Marcon of the St Mary’s Flames who single handedly scorched the Oak Park Raiders by scoring 4 goals and assisting on 2 others as the Flames won by a score of 6-4. Randi was unstoppable as she controlled the puck throughout the game.
  • Winnipeg Free Press Division B: Congratulations to Jessica Bousquet of the John Taylor Pipers who was the difference maker as she and her teammates beat the St. John’s Ravenscourt Eagles 4-1. Jessica scored 2 beautiful goals in their thrilling victory.

Week ending December 10, 2011

  • CTV Division A: Dakota Lancer’s Kelsey Bowerman had a sensational game in net helping them to narrowly defeat the Sanford Sabres 2 to 1. Kelsey’s performance was outstanding as she maneuvered to stop many quality shots.
  • Winnipeg Free Press Division B: Miles Mac Buckeye’s Danielle Fraser had an incredible week, first helping her team to achieve a 1-1 tie against the SJR Eagles and then contributing to their big 3-1 win over the St Norbert Celtics.

Week ending December 2, 2011

  • CTV Division A: Congratulations to Fort Richmond Centurion’s goaltender Tiana Charban who was sensational in goal against the Vincent Massey Trojans helping her team to a thrilling 4 to 3 win. Tiana stopped 38 of 41 stops with 21 of those stops coming in the 3rd period.
  • Winnipeg Free Press Division B: Congratulations to Michelle Kerdes, the Beliveau Barracudas’ goaltender, who backstopped her team to a 1-1 tie against the Miles Mac Buckeyes. Michelle stopped 21 shots in the 2nd and 3rd period with many of those shots being goal net scrambles.

Week ending November 25, 2011

  • CTV Division A: Congratulations to St. Mary’s Flames forward Jordyn Zacharias for her outstanding performance in helping her team beat the Vincent Massey Trojans 2 to 1. Jordyn scored one goal, added an assist, created many chances and was very strong on the puck.
  • Winnipeg Free Press Division B: Congratulations to the River East Kodiaks’ Rebecca Connor who was simply outstanding, leading her team to a 4 to 1 victory over the Miles Mac Buckeyes. In addition to scoring 3 of her team’s 4 goals, Rebecca displayed a strong work ethic and showed great sporstmanship.

Week ending November 18, 2011

  • CTV Division A: Congratulations to Oak Park Raider’s captain Jessie Hilton who came out flying in helping her team to an 11-1 victory over the Sanford Sabres this week. Jessie was a dominant force on defense as she back checked, fore checked, set up passes and scored 5 goals and assisted on 2 others.
  • Winnipeg Free Press Division B: Congratulations to the Kelvin Clippers’ Jane Roxburgh who had a terrific week of play, helping her team defeat the SJR Eagles 5-3 by scoring 4 points, and then dominating in her team’s 3-3 tie with the West Kildonan Wolverines racking up 2 more assists.

Week ending November 11, 2011

  • CTV Division A: Congratulations to Leanne Kukelko of the Sanford Sabres who played very strong defense, made great passes, and played with significant hockey- intelligence to help her team win a 4-2 victory over the St. Mary’s Flames.
  • Winnipeg Free Press Division B: Congratulations to Louis Riel Voyageurs’ Kariana Durupt who played head and shoulders above any other player in her team’s 2-1 victory over the St Norbert Celtics. Kariana set up the beautiful winning goal, back checked, fore checked and won most of her face offs.

Week ending November 4, 2011

  • CTV Division A: Congratulations to Brinn Gilrie of the Vincent Massey Trojans who backboned her team to a thrilling 1-0 win over the Lord Selkirk Royals. She was brilliant in the third period stopping all 13 shots and made some key saves as the period ended.
  • Winnipeg Free Press Division B: Congratulations to Kaitlyn Bodnarchuk of the SJR Eagles as they battled the Sturgeon Heights Huskies to a 1-1 tie. Kaitlyn scored the Eagles only goal, fore-checked relentlessly and moved the puck with authority.

Week ending October 28, 2011

  • CTV Division A: Congratulations to BH Blazers’ Tess Bracken for having an outstanding game against the Lord Selkirk Royals. The jets were open full blast as she scored 4 goals and assisted on 3 others as they beat Lord Selkirk 9-1.
  • Winnipeg Free Press Division B: Congratulations to St. Norbert Celtics’ Kate Morin who was a dominating force in a hard fought 2-1 victory over the Beliveau Barracudas. Kate refused to give up on any play and her hard fought effort encouraged her teammates.

Week ending October 21, 2011

  • CTV Division A: Congratulations to Oak Park’s Erin Kucheravy who displayed excellent offensive skills and solid defense as well as scoring 2 short handed goals and 1 assist in a 4-3 victory over the Lord Selkirk Royals in the CTV Division.
  • Winnipeg Free Press Division B: Congratulations to Destyni Chiborak of the West Kildonan Wolverines for displaying a relentless effort and puck possession as well as collecting 3 points in helping lead her team to a 4-3 victory over the Miles Macdonnel Buckeyes in the Winnipeg Free Press Division.

Week ending October 14, 2011

  • CTV Division A: Congratulations to Jeanne Sauve’s Julia Ortiz for being this year’s first star in the CTV Division. Julia came out flying and scored 2 goals and assisted on another to help lead her team to a 4 - 1 victory over a strong Dakota team.
  • Winnipeg Free Press Division B: Congratulations to Breanne Yozenko of the Sturgeon Heights Huskies for being this year’s first star in the Winnipeg Free Press Division. Sturgeon Heights played a tenacious Lorette team with Breanne scoring 2 short handed goals and an assist in helping lead her team to a 6-4 victory.
