Congratulations to the Players of the Week ending February 2, 2024. You can also view the Players of the Week Archives.

Ending February 2, 2024

Division 1: Maddyn Tyerman, Shaftesbury Titans, Forward #16

Maddyn had one heck of a week leading the Titans to a big win. On Friday she propelled her team to a 6 goal second period as she scored two goals just 18 seconds apart to erase the 1-0 deficit to VMC Trojans. She was able to complete the hattrick 8 mins later while the Titans took control of the game and came out with a 7-1 victory. Congratulations Maddyn!

Division 2: Anjali Smelski-Zuk, Sanford Sabres, Defence #7

Anjali led the Sabres on a 2 game win streak this week starting off strong on Thursday against the Sturgeon Heights Huskies as she put up 2 goals and 2 assists in her teams 8-1 win. Her defensive skills were also on display as she took the body in front of her own net and shut down the opponents’ scoring opportunities on multiple occasions. The next day, she continued her solid defensive play with several hard back checks, and strong outlet passes to get her team a clean breakout against the WKC Wolverines leading to a 2-0 win. Congratulations Anjali!

Division 3: Leah Robinson, Beliveau Barracudas, Goalie #31

Leah played a solid game in the Beliveau Barracuda’s 1-0 win over the Springfield Sabres on Wednesday. She fought hard to keep her teams 1-0 lead from early in the 1st period and managed all the way to her second shut out of the season. She stopped 18 of 18 shots that went her way, many of which were highlight reel worthy. She improved to 3-4-1 on the season while lowering her Goals Against Average to 2.23. Congratulations Leah!
