Congratulations to the Players of the Week!

Week ending - February 11, 2022

CTV Division 1: Maia Ehmann, SMA Flames, Forward #5

The flame was shining bright on Tuesday as SMA Flames Maia Ehmann torched the VMC Trojans, notching 4 goals and 1 assist. She was especially effective capitalizing on Trojans’ turnovers with 3 of her 4 goals resulting from them. The next day, Maia single-highhandedly tipped the scales for her team scoring a hattrick and an assist in their 7-2 win over the CSLR Renards. Maia is the Flames leading scorer with 45 points so far this season.  Congratulations Maia!

Winnipeg Free Press Division 2: Hope Nerbas, Garden City Gophers, Forward #12

GCC Gophers Hope Nerbas was in top form in her teams double header against the SJR Eagles this week.  On Thursday, she was instrumental in a close 2-0 win. On Friday, she was a threat anytime she was on the ice. She fore checked hard causing several turnovers and was rewarded with 3 goals and an assist in the 6-2 win. Hope is the Gophers leading scorer with 36 points so far this season.  Congratulations Hope!

Hire Marketing Division 2: Emily Schmeichel, Dakota Lancers, Goalie #35

Against the Springfield Sabres on Tuesday, she stopped 16 of 18 shots for a 6-2 win.  On Friday, she made numerous great plays stopping all 48 shots and several breakaways for a 2-0 shutout over the Glenlawn Lions.
