Division 2: Halia Jonker, Lorette Scorpions, Goaltender #1

Halia was outstanding in the Scorpions playoff series against the Sturgeon Heights Huskies. On Tuesday, she stopped 16 of 17 shots for a .94 save percentage, leading the Scorpions to a huge 2-1 road victory. She made several key saves to keep her team in the lead through the 2nd and 3rd periods, ensuring the very important win. On Wednesday, she stopped 25 of 26 shots with her composure and awareness, unfortunately the Scorpions couldn’t find the back of the net and fell in a 1-0 loss. On Thursday, Halia played a great game stopping all 34 shots that came her way. In overtime she stopped another 8 shots including several key saves, earning herself a shutout and the Scorpions a 1-0 win to move on to the next round of playoffs. Congratulations Halia!

Division 2: Hailey Page, Miles Mac Buckeyes, Defence #33

Hailey was the spark for her team in their playoff series against the Garden City Gophers. Her relentless effort from start to finish created offensive chances while her hard work set the tone for the Buckeyes and kept them competing even after a tough 5-1 loss on Tuesday. On Wednesday, she had an instrumental role in the Buckeyes 5-4 victory as she fought hard to score the game winning goal in the second half of the third period. On Friday, Hailey played an excellent game as she had an assist on all 3 goals netted by the Buckeyes. Her defensive play was strong, clearing away rebounds and boxing the Gophers out. When she had the puck on her stick she did a great job of getting her team out of their zone and in to the offensive zone. Congratulations Hailey!
