Division 1/2 - East: Halia Jonker, Lorette Scorpions, Goaltender #1
Halia backed the Scorpions to two solids wins this past week. It started on Monday with a riveting back and forth game against the WKC Wolverines that ended in a 5-4 OT win for the Scorpions. She stopped 23 of 27 shots, holding firm all through the overtime period to allow her team to secure the win with only 1:42 left. She kept it up on Thursday as the Scorpions faced the Gabrielle-Roy/Pointe-des-Chenes Cavaliers. She was an impenetrable wall as she earned a 1-0 shut out victory by stopping all 38 shots she faced. On the week, she stopped 61 of 65 shots faced for a .938 Save percentage. Congratulations Halia!
Division 1/2 - West: Chloe Stewart, John Taylor Pipers, Forward #16
Chloe was a strong presence on the ice all week. Although the Pipers fell to the VMC Trojans in a 3-2 OT loss on Tuesday, she came back stronger than ever for their second game of the week. She was the bread winner in their match up against the Garden City Gophers on Thursday. She tallied an assist on the first goal of the game before putting home three straight goals in the third period for the natural hat trick. She was all over the ice, back checking hard all while setting up her teammates and getting pucks to the net. An all-around top-notch effort leading the Pipers to a 5-0 win. Congratulations Chloe!
Division 3: Lauren Bryson, PCI Saints, Defence #18
Lauren showed her versatility this week as she produced from all ends of the ice. On Wednesday she scored the lone goal for the PCI Saints in their 3-1 loss to the Beliveau Barracudas. On Thursday she opened the scoring and proceeded to add 3 assists in a 12-0 win over the Beausejour Barracudas. She had a great game no matter what position she played and was always team focused as she was consistently finding an open teammate to finish the play. She finished the week with 2 goals and 3 assists for a 5 point week. Congratulations Lauren!
