Division 1/2 - East: Delainey & Vayda Rigaux, Glenlawn Lions, Forward #16 & Defence #17
Glenlawn Lions’ sisters, Delainey & Vayda put on quite a show this week. Vayda put together a dominant performance, scoring a goal and adding 2 assists while Delaney also scored a goal in the Lions 3-2 win over the CJS Olympiens on Tuesday. Their vision and poise with the puck created scoring chances throughout the game. Vayda capped it off by burying the overtime winner. In their battle with the Gabrielle-Roy/Pointe-des Chenes Cavaliers on Friday, Delainey scored the tying goal and notched the game winner in the second round of the shootout. Vayda started off by scoring a goal in the 2nd period. Both players were a threat every time they stepped on the ice. Congratulations Delainey & Vayda!
Division 1/2 - West: Camryn Hrankowski, Garden City Gophers, Forward #14
Camryn had a strong week, starting on Thursday against the John Taylor Pipers. She scored the first goal in the Gophers 3-1 win over the Pipers. She plays hard every time she steps on the ice and never quits. In their 3-2 loss to the Westwood Warriors on Friday, Camryn again scored the first goal. She plays with heart and determination, always challenging in the corners and makes plays at both ends of the ice. Congratulations Camryn!
Division 3: Nina Bowes, SJR Eagles, Forward #17
Nina delivered a wonderful performance, battling hard in all 3 zones. She created several strong chances and consistently pushed the pace for her team despite losing 3-0 to Murdoch on Monday. Her effort and complete level stood out from start to finish. Three days later in their 9-3 win over the Portage Saints, she scored 3 goals and an assist. She is a complete hockey player who works hard in both ends of the ice. She scored the first 2 goals and then elected to focus on playmaking rather than scoring. She was outstanding in both ends of the rink and most importantly demonstrated selfless leadership, a true team player. Congratulations Nina!
