Ending February 14, 2025

Division 1: Vayda Rigaux, Glenlawn Lions, Defence #17

Vayda led a spectacular game against the Oak Park Raiders on Tuesday in a Lions 6-4 victory. She scored a huge goal to give the Lions their first lead of the game early in the third period and the Raiders were never able to recover from the momentum that she generated. She played strong defense all game, shutting down attacking Raider forwards and blocking shots on more than one occasion. Her ability to pass from her zone onto the stick of her teammates streaking down to the Raider’s blue line is unparalleled and she even generated a breakaway with one of the prettiest passes of the season. Congratulations Vayda!

Division 2: Brooklyn Kelly, JH Bruns Broncos, Forward #5

Brooklyn showcased her offensive abilities by setting up her teammates and scoring goals all week long. She scored a goal and set up 3 others in an 8-5 win over the River East Kodiaks on Monday. Her ability to contribute at both ends of the ice proved crucial. She didn’t stop there, her effort paid off with many skilled transition plays and culminated in a hat-trick plus one assist in a 7-0 win over the Sturgeon Heights Huskies on Wednesday. Brooklyn ended the week with 8 points. Congratulations Brooklyn!

Division 3: Serena Gorski, Beausejour Barons, Forward #12

Serena was instrumental in helping her team down the SJR Eagles with a score of 8-7 in overtime. She was all over the ice, back checking, forechecking, only stopping when she was on the bench. She scored the tying goal at 1:05 left in the third period to send the game into overtime. Serena just continued skating hard all over the ice and at 3:26 of the overtime period she scored the winning goal. She was a force and showed impressive accuracy netting 5 goals total. Congratulations Serena!
